I enjoyed the mini Shinichi flashback nice to see him

Ooh a new ending song. It's alright. Not bad but nothing too special.

It’s fine honestly for an ending

The reason why Sonoko and Ran are such good friends is that Ran never expects Sonoko to buy her anything. So they treat each other as equals.

There was an episode where Conan said that Sonoko had invited Ran on a trip, but Ran turned it down because she couldn't afford it. Ran knew that Sonoko would cover for her, but didn't want to take advantage of their friendship.

Basically, it isn't okay for Ran to accept Sonoko's offerings, yet it's completely fine for Sonoko to make demands from Ran..

My what a nice friendship between two clear equals!

One is an entire vacation, the other is lunch. In other episodes, Sonoko bought Ran and Conan food. I assume they have a good enough friendship to not keep count of who bought what for whom.

I can imagine how difficult it would be for Ran if Sonoko kept saying "no, I'll pay" because then it would make it seem as if Sonoko was pitying Ran and not treating her as an equal.

Also, Ran isn't poor. She's not as wealthy as Sonoko, but she's not homeless or can't afford food or whatever.

nothing you say can change that fact that money simply has a different value for people. To Sonoko, who's probably had LUNCHES worth the amount of that entire vacation, it means so little. While to someone who is lead to believe it would be rude to accept a gift simply because she cannot buy it on her own it has a much crazier value, and clearly not just a financial one.
Ran is hyperaware of this, while Sonoko is not. She's still a super rude person.

I didn’t expect a new ending anytime soon because these endings are usually here for quite long
